Mutualism

The specimen is a bird and a crocodile. I found it at the L.A zoo. The relationship between an alligator and the bird is a form of mutualism because both organisms benefit from each other. The bird gets its food by eating the food between the crocodile's teeth, and the crocodile gets its teeth cleaned. Mutualism is  an association between organisms of two different species in which each member benefits. The crocodile and bird are two different species yet they benefit from one another.
